Baran's 2239 - Hermosa Beach

These are the most accommodating owners and chefs. They bend over backwards to see that I have gluten and dairy free options. Everything they make is exceptional. The noise level was nonexistent and the ambience was calm. They are willing to work with youmon your needs.

Outstanding food. Really good service. Quite loud in the restaurant. Smoked and fried chicken was huge plate. Steak Diane was good size. Grilled octopus about right for four of us. Meatballs were great and right sized. Should have been at least two squash blossoms. Everybody in my group loved it. Highly recommend unless you wear hearing aids.

Baran's 2239 is always a special treat for us. The food is excellent and the menu is updated frequently with delicious new items. We had a few of our usuals this trip (focaccia bread, half chicken, maple apple salad) and we tried the Blue crab spaghetti. It was excellent, with just enough crab to make it interesting, but not overly fishy (my wife isn't a fish person) but the serrano peppers made it so tasty. Just a wonderful meal altogether! Jason and his team know how to make things enjoyable with friendly, attentive service and advice on dishes and wine selection.

I fall even more in love with this restaurant every time I go. There is nothing on the menu that isn't amazing... Things that I normally don't like from other restaurants, such as octopus, I could not get enough of at Baran's. They cooked it so perfectly that I want to tell the chefs from every other restaurant I've been to to learn from them? everyone I've taken there is blown away by how amazing it is. The owners and their family are so kind and accommodating, as is the rest of the staff, so it has a very non-pretentious vibe to it. At the same time, the ambience is that of a highly rated New York bistro, and as soon as you take a bite of any of the fabulous dishes there, you'll know why it is Michelin rated... they should give them another star!!

Our first time at Baran's. The food was creative and delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. Loved the hamachi, Indian egg and smoked chicken. Will definitely return.
