The dining experience was wonderful. We were initially a bit apprehensive when we arrived, as it took some time for someone to greet us. The staff seemed to walk past us without acknowledging our presence. After about five minutes, a server finally called someone to assist us, and we're so glad we decided to wait. Everything we ordered was fantastic, especially the crawfish bisque, which was delicious. We will defini... View all feedback.

Came here off a suggestion from a friend. I was celebrating my birthday. Just not what I expected from a place like this. Its California though. So I cant expect soul food to taste the same or remotely close to southern food. My wife wanted the cornbread, they were out of that. I was told this was the same restaurant that was in Downtown Oakland a few years ago. . .but so happens it is the same owner. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were sizable and the service was impeccable!
Great food, and staff is friendly, but the wait times between ordering, and reviewing our check was really long and drawn out. Although our waitress was nice, she didn’t check on our table either.
The food was very good, but our service was slow. I would have given my overall experience 4 stars if the service had not been so slow.
The service was good, courteous and the food was awesome. They allowed us to sit and talk in the restaurant after it was closed. Love the atmosphere and the service.

We wanted to leave but it wasnt worth the gamble dealing with another restaurant that time of night. Our waitress was the best part of the night and the ice cold water she provided us with. I believe her name was Lexi, or Alexus/Alexis. We enjoyed her and the dog stories we shared.
