What User doesn't like about Thanon Khao San Thai Restaurant:
Bit disappointed Asked for more green vegetables and less noodles and got more noodles and no green vegetables. Seafood pad thai had one prawn, 3 pieces of calamari and 2 rubbery mussels View all feedback.
I have traveled to many places and tried different dishes, but the pineapple fried rice, crying tiger beef, and vegetables with pork belly at this restaurant were the best I have ever had.
Every time we visit Sydney, we make sure to come to this restaurant. It's a casual, somewhat trendy Thai dining spot with a friendly atmosphere and great food. The menu offers a wide variety of Thai dishes, which might be overwhelming for those unfamiliar with Thai cuisine. However, the wait staff are friendly and happy to assist non-Thai speakers with their selections. Regardless of what you choose, the food is authentic and delicious without any pretentiousness often found in upscale restaurants.
We had a fantastic evening at this Thai restaurant. The atmosphere was bustling, which is always a positive sign. The waitstaff were attentive, making sure our table was well-organized and that our meals arrived piping hot. We enjoyed the fish cakes (absolutely delicious), the duck and shiitake mushroom (the standout dish of the night), fried squid (good), pad see ew (tasty), and chicken satay (a bit disappointing, but still decent). Our evening was made even more enjoyable by the Thai Robbie Williams serenading us with "Angels" and "Feel." We will definitely be returning!
Don't come. The cashier was rude and yelled at me because I wasn't placing the card at the right place on the reader (weird place). I wish I was a bit more confident and just left. Nothing that special about the food unfortunately either; can find tastier at other places in Sydney and one thing I got was too oily...
Not only was the red curry with duck, sticky rice, and pork satay in tamarind sauce absolutely delicious and well-priced, the owner and server went beyond the call of duty to get our order to us. We were in hotel quarantine and tried to place a delivery order with one delivery service but their web site said no delivery was available. We tried a second delivery service and actually placed the order, but then was notified the order had been cancelled. The server at the restaurant texted me a photo of the order she had received and said my order was ready. I called the delivery service and was told they cannot deliver the order due to a lack of drivers. I told this to the restaurant so the owner delivered our order himself, within minutes. We will definitely give this restaurant our business in the future!
