I have not had a bad dish from this place from my multiple visits. I love the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. I love the fact that they open late and have a fresh food grocery store right next to it.
I love that they have coffee and cakes, and flowers on each table. View all feedback.
What Leilani Paucek doesn't like about Boon Cafe:
I love the food and coffee here, especially brekkie menu. I normally went there when I did not cook because there are many choice of healthy dishes. But be careful of the waitresses, they were quite rude when it was busy. View all feedback.
We visited boons on a recommendation of an Indonesian Uber driver who was a little random! she described it as “One of the best authentic Thai restaurants in sydney, but with more a cafe vibe than a restaurant “. she was 100% spot...on a half of boons is a super market that sells Thai products and the other side is cafe style with little bite. the dishes we had were sharp, which was good. the cost $60 for 3 net and a shared starter .summation: if they are looking for a restaurant style ambiente, then I would probably look different. if they want to eat great authentic Thai food, then I would say it is worth a visit
We had breakfast here and during the service is a little ashamed eating is great and surprisingly I enjoyed the setting of the Asian super market. the largest dose of hoisin I've ever seen!
This caffe food store is quite famous in the Thai town of sydney cbd. they serve delicious pocket-friendly foods that they do not stop to raving, but unfortunately, they are difficult to miss in the hospitality aspekt . especially mismanagement, which can be very disappointed. either they have. eat on the table, but no crumb/spoon served, and then in the next minute they had someone else order on our table. the worst was when we said that the coffee we had ordered was sold out after we were almost finished with the meal (the coffee was already ordered before we ordered our meal).
We were the day before. for the second time, the young girl who welcomes us to sit on two tables because she refuses that these tables are brought together by us. we explain to her that we did this yesterday and without the problem. she answers us: not with her! we have left the place and we will never go back!
I should've known better my husband told me, when I reported how disappointing my luncheon was coming back here..I had a totally negative experience last time with profoundly awful service lack lustre food bigtime. From the menu I chose the expensively listed $17!! Guoi...Si Mee..a Chinese-influenced dish of egg noodles cooked with chicken bamboo mushroom in a light sauce. Instead of the nice picture in the menu listing, what arrived was a turgid, thickened pond of dreadful-looking greenish liquid that had mostly submerged!..pieces of the said mix drowned together with some noodles. It was simply awful.. its my fault I didn't send it back..I just couldn't be bothered arguing.. frankly 2nd time around had no faith they could do any better . I gingerly fished as many bits I felt like eating left the rest... Keep well clear of this place if you are serious about Asian cooking..their reputation isn't deserved.
