Such a beautiful old bank building and they've let it get flooded, so it's pretty unpleasant now even if you go upstairs. Quite expensive drinks, any discounts are short-lived, but the staff are nice.

A gem in the centre of China Town. Cold beer and a relaxed atmosphere. Meals were pub fare but well presented and tasty.

After spending a week eating Asian food, this was a great find. $16 steak, chips, salad and a drink. Only down side was the meal was big and they dont have take away containers

Living in Newcastle only allows infrequent visits to Sydney. However every visit over the last 10 years includes The Haymarket Hotel in George st . Previous owner Stephen is still there and new owner Simon is also busy working in the Pub . Staff are great and so is the food . Specials are available every day however their lead is $16 for either rump steak, chicken schnitzel or fish . And as well you get a beer or a wine with the meal . Excellent value for Sydney ... never had a bad steak or schnitzel. The Hotel was originally a bank so many of the old features have been kept . Lots of TV screens and all the usual facilities however this pub has a special appeal, so much so I would like to tow it to Newcastle... with staff and owner as well. Hope you enjoy as much as I do PS I even impressed my 3 sons as they couldn’t believe old Dad could choose such a great pub

Great place if you want a quick cheap meal. Good specials, steak, fish and chips or chicken schnitzel on offer with a drink for $16, can’t beat that, especially being in the city near Haymarket. Will certainly pop in again before I head back to the UK.
