Was Diana Spinka at 717 Ranch a mag?
A camp, community and location full of down-to-earth magic. Went there as a camper in the mid-1960s. It changed my life, and the skills and lessons I learned there are with me every day still. I’m delighted to see that the vision and uniqueness of the Bar 717 has been nurtured thru the decades and into the present day as a place for kids to experience wonder in nature, work and creativity. I live in far-off Europe no... View all feedback.

This camp is literally so funny, I just got my third year at the bar 717 it is a BUNCH of activities that you can do like archery, rifle, horse riding, ceramics, art and crafts, and so much more the food is THE BEST!!!! Everything is as good as OMFG. There are dances and campfires that may not seem fun, but first I thought id hate it, but boy I was wrong the dance is so funny that his not like these waltz partner dances you in the 5th. Class do, there are so many places to swim and the hiking is really greatid def recommend, this camp its so fun for all ages

The summer camp in Bar 717 Ranch is something similar to a national treasure. It is the oldest co-ed camp in the nation. My 16-year-old visited this camp for 9 years. The camp community is really a family to visit generations of children and then send their children. It's a back-to-basics-type place. Nothing like a sports camp. Every afternoon all campers swim in the swimming hole, which is part of a beautiful river. In the morning children can choose from different activities, including crafts, horse riding, music etc. The camp is located in the Trinity Alps.

Went to a wedding, and this camp is beautiful! Surprisingly had 0 bug bites, no unexpected critters in the cabins, great views and friendly staff. No cell service in the area, so be ready to disconnect. My only feedback is I wish they had more outdoor lounge seating. I found it challenging to find places to relax other than the round dinner tables. Perhaps some more chairs by the pond or a chair swing.Overall would love to come back!
