We love Mandys. It's a hidden jewel here in Hawthorne. We have lived around the corner in the last 4 years and finally stopped a few months ago. The service is perfect and the food is divine. Joe is so super helpful and friendly. The beef is delicious, my husband gets it every time. I always get other things because I just want to try everything. Definitely worth a visit. Good food with affordable prices. Mandys is what one would expect from a classic diner. Seated immediately and served with great hospitality. Much better than the corporate diner options nearby. Best cookies Gravy, I had a while. The cookies are soft and very rare. I'm looking and finally found her at Mandys. I will definitely be back and recommend family friends. FYI I used my debit card. Someone said in the reviews, "Kash only". That's wrong. Enjoy!
I love old time style memories (read: hole in the wall, lol), where the owner still runs around and not only touches tables personally, but also knows the regulars and sits w/ them to speak; this place is absolutely that, and the food is amazing to complete it! Quick service, the food came out quickly, we sat right away, but I could see a waiting time for this place on weekends or breakfast / lunch break safely! The salsa is made incredible house (you can say it), and the domestic pommes were *perfectly* seasoned- I know this is a random fact haha, but I usually have ALWAYS to salt my hash brews/heimfries etc here I am not so impressed! I know I'm back.
Really old school style restaurant with great food. Very nice and attentive staff. We have breakfast there at least 4 times a month and love it. Also reasonable prices. About 12 bucks for 2 eggs 2 bacon sausage hasashbrowns and 2 pancakes. It fills me pretty well. Coffee is good. Also Huevos rancheros and beans are delicious, they remind me of my mothers cooking. I highly recommend this place to have a long slow chill breakfast. Workers of the world UNITE!!
The food was very good. Biscuits and gravy were the highlight. Eggs were done to order. This was just my second visit but I do plan on getting there more often.
