I recently received a takeout menu from a restaurant called Spice Club, formerly known as Cafe Balti before the previous owner retired. The menu featured unique dishes that caught my attention. Despite not being a fan of onion bhajis, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and different they were at Spice Club. I enjoy trying new things, so I was happy to discover that the rest of the dishes I tried were also very tasty. I appreciated that they do not use artificial coloring or flavoring. If you're looking to explore new curry dishes, I recommend giving Spice Club a try. While they still offer classic favorites, I'm looking forward to trying more of their unique offerings on my next visit.
I just want to say that out of 8 people who visited, 2 got sick with food poisoning. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. The setup and food quality were very poor.
The food was terrible, with recooked dishes that were not fresh. The bread was stale, the curry was poor quality, and the onion bhaji seemed to have been sitting out for hours before being reheated upon our order. Overall, a disappointing dining experience.
The food arrived very late and was of poor quality - the poppadoms were soggy and the bhajis were cold. When we called to complain, the owner refused a refund because we ordered through Just Eat, only offering £20 off our next order. The meat and breads were tasty but not hot. Overall, the price we paid was not worth the experience.
We have dined at this restaurant several times before, but our recent experience was disappointing. The korma curry lacked pistachio nuts and the sauce was watery, requiring us to drain it. The lamb masala was dry, tough, and tasted like an old kebab. Once again, the sauce was too watery. Overall, the food was not enjoyable and we do not plan to return.
