A really quaint little place with an altogether charming appearance both inside and out. We arrived for lunch on a Monday, most other places in Havelock were closed, it was late 1-30 pm ish. Despite this the place was bright and clean the staff friendly and attentive. Plus the food was fresh and tasty, what more could you ask? Drove to Havelock for mussels, fries and white wine. Ended up with a mussel pie, cheese scone for hubby, and the best cup of Earl Grey tea. This tea room and the food exceeded our expectations. Very happy we chose Ray’s Place.
We stopped in on our way home from Nelson. The food was well presented, very tasty, the service was great. Next time we are passing through, I will definitely call in. Sit inside or out, with a view of the Marina.
Great service and wide selection of food made on site. Great for eat in or take away. Quality, clean and friendly. A great place to stop if traveling. I don't think they do cooked breakfast but have tood to heat and eat.
Found Ray's after a drive along the beautiful Queen Charlotte Drive. Perfect place for a coffee and light lunch. The breakfast panini was excellent and my wife enjoyed the fresh cream cakes. Stopped here again the next day en route to Kaiteriteri. Highly recommended.
Had a Mussel Pie at Ray's and loved it! Beautiful mornay sauce and heaps of mussels! Yum! On the smaller side than the bakery but nicer pastry, better flavour more mussels.
