Don't bother with any of the seafood places around here, just go here, it seems to be the only good dinner place in Picton. As well Willie is an extremely talented musician. Good beer selection as well Price per person: NZ$30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Seamus' Famous Guinness Hot Pot, Sausage and Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Bangers and Mash View all feedback.
What E S doesn't like about Seumus' Irish Bar Restaurant:
Our group felt incredibly unwelcome here. Stopped by earlier in evening to ask about hours (open until midnight), and about a particular sporting event, which they said they would not be playing. Walked by the bar 1-2 hours later, and they were in fact playing what we had inquired about. So popped in, no welcome from the staff, and overheard them complaining to kitchen staff that another group had come in (before 9:3... View all feedback.
A very cool very welcoming bar. The small town of Picton is lucky to have such a hip establishment. Stopped in one afternoon to throw back a few pints found a very inviting staff manning a traditional Irish pub. Ice cold beer on tap or in bottles. I stuck with the traditional Irish pours on this stop. But, plenty of options to choose from, all at a reasonable price. We snacked on some tasty fries while soaking up the suds. They were cooked to perfection served with a garlic aioli. One order was big enough for our small group. Live music in the afternoon on our visit. The musician did a phenomenal job covering some classic rock favorites. Bathrooms were clean well organized. A small outdoor patio out back for dining in the cool New Zealand air. Strong Wi-Fi with no time limit. Most bars restaurants in Picton limit the user customer to one hour of access. Bummer that Seumus's is too far from home. I'd make it a regular stop if it were closer. Gotta admit, it was the sign displaying the special of the day that really drew us in!
Wasn't great but good. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was good for the price. It's a quaint little Irish bar that serves pizza. Recommend the pizza and beer deal for $22 but only on selected pizzas.
A great little bar to hang in after dinner. Also offers a full menu, bar food items, and a wide beer and cider selection . Worth the stop while you are in town.
Great staff, great beers, amazing pizza! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's an Irish bar and the only Irish thing about it is that it serves Guinness and i got yelled at by the bartender for swearing and there wasn't even any kids around... I mean come on man, in what world do people not swear at the bar, especially a friggen Irish one. However, on a hot day go get a Bailey's slushy! Damn those things are good
Our group felt incredibly unwelcome here. Stopped by earlier in evening to ask about hours (open until midnight), and about a particular sporting event, which they said they would not be playing. Walked by the bar 1-2 hours later, and they were in fact playing what we had inquired about. So popped in, no welcome from the staff, and overheard them complaining to kitchen staff that another group had come in (before 9:30). Another 6-8 people came in and out, and then the staff's friends who had been drinking at the bar left and 5 min later, at 10:15, they announced to the 6 people left (our group and another) that they were closing in 10 min because it was too slow and wasn't worth paying wages. I left without even finishing my drink. Overall a very negative vibe, wouldn't go back.
