Nice little upstairs cafe inside the outdoor shop. Staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. Be sure to ask about the options we were told that the veg sausages were fried in the meat fryer, because their vegan fryer is also their gluten free fryer and the sausages contain gluten. Check though as it may have changed. Had a breakfast with double hash browns instead which was nice. Good coffee. View all feedback.

If you want salads and raw juices, steer clear. If you're looking for hearty, amazing value stodge with a pint of tea, this is the place! The breakfast menu is huge and modular, so you can build your own plateful and pay for five or ten items. It's brilliant value, though very greasy. This place is aimed at people who've been out in the hills walking or climbing all day, not at health fooders looking for something to nibble. They have soya milk for tea and a few other vegan items on the menu, though I always go for the breakfast. No vegan cakes last time I looked.
I met some friends in Hathersage and we decided to stop for lunch. As Hathersage is not really the most vegan-friendly of places, after looking at a couple of places it looked as though we would only be able to get a plain salad sandwich. Someone then suggested we try the Outside Cafe and it was such a contrast! Vegan options are clearly marked on the menu on the wall, offering cooked breakfasts, vegan sandwiches and more. I had an incredible hot sandwich with tomato, vegan sausage and mushrooms, which really filled me up.
This café is located on the upper floor of an outdoor shop and has a beautiful atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. Be sure to inquire about the food options, as we were informed that the Veg sausages were cooked in the same fryer as meat, which may not be suitable for vegetarians or those with gluten sensitivities. Double Hash Browns for breakfast were a nice touch, and the coffee was good. Be aware of potential gluten cross-contamination with certain menu items.
If you're in the mood for salads and fresh juices, look elsewhere. But if you're craving hearty and affordable comfort food with a hot cup of tea, this is the place for you! The breakfast menu is extensive and customizable, allowing you to create your own meal by choosing from five or ten items. While the food is delicious, it is on the heavy side. This restaurant caters to those who have been active outdoors all day, rather than health-conscious individuals looking for light bites. They offer soy milk for tea and have a few vegan options on the menu, although I usually stick to the breakfast choices. Unfortunately, there were no vegan desserts available when I last visited.
