This restaurant has a rustic atmosphere and the food is excellent. I ordered the chile relleno and bean burrito smothered in green and red chili (known as "Christmas" in New Mexico). My husband had the green chili cheeseburger, which was also delicious. I forgot to mention the chips and salsa, they were also very good.
We tried the Lara cheeseburgers, one with fries and one with homemade onion rings, and they were fantastic. We were able to sit on the patio with our dog. The restaurant is lovely, very clean, and popular among locals. The service was friendly. We decided to try a popular burger joint nearby, but it doesn't compare to Valley Cafe. Whenever I'm in Hatch, I will always come back here. It's more affordable and much better.
I have tried many green chili burgers in Hatch, but this one is definitely one of the best. I highly recommend trying their burgers.
The food at this restaurant was amazing. However, the person taking our order was not very friendly and did not slice the torta in half as requested. We were able to sit on their porch with our small dogs, but unfortunately there were ants everywhere. Despite these issues, we still had a pleasant experience and would definitely return because the food was so delicious!
