Broasterant - Hartford
Broasterant
Description
Hidden in Hartford, this family‑run spot earns near‑cult status for its made‑to‑order fried chicken: crisp, juicy and often brined, served with generous fries and a butter roll at wallet‑friendly prices. The owner cooks in view, creating a cozy, slightly outdated counter experience that fills up late into the night. Expect friendly service but unavoidable waits (call ahead if pressed). Minor complaints include bland seasoning for some, shoestring fries that can be hard, and limited menu flexibility—chicken is only sold as a plate with fries and you can’t pick parts.

The fried chicken is delicious! Very light batter, super crispy but juicy inside. I believe the chicken is brined. It has great flavor. You do not need any sauces! The chicken is made to order so it does take a bit of time. There's free street parking. The interior is very outdated but I was there for the fried chicken. Very affordable prices. I would definitely return. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Hey, its your girl Honest Review. Man o' man, how am I just finding out about this place? I think this is hands down the best made to order fried chicken in Hartford. The owner was super friendly. There is nothing pre-made in that restaurant. You have to call ahead for them to start it, or when you get there, you wait. I had the 16-piece fried chicken only. You can get a 3 piece with fries and roll or chicken by itself. I'll definitely be back!! Shout out to the owner for having historic Park Street memorabilias on the walls in the restaurant. Peace yall! Service: Takeaway Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fried Chicken
The chicken at this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. If you're nearby, you have to give it a try!
The chicken was decent, but I’ve definitely had better fried chicken before. It wasn’t the worst, though. The service was good, and the portion of fries that came with the chicken was generous. I wanted just the chicken on its own, but it’s only offered with fries, no exceptions. That seemed a bit strange to me, but I guess it's not my place to judge.
