Guest reviews praise Sasso’s seafood, wine list and attentive service, but note occasional small lunchtime portions and rare service or temperature inconsistencies.
Food very nice but not the place to go if hungry at lunchtime, set lunch menu portions are very small or were the day we went, disappointed as been before and was better, left hungry!! Maybe better on an evening Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

What a very lovely evening! Not been for a few years, but wanted to try again and was not disappointed at all. The staff were very friendly on arrival, and service was immediate. Timing between courses was perfect too. The waiting staff were excellent and attentive throughout the evening, all with constant smiles which add to the ambiance and dining experience. The food was very nice indeed, well presented and perfectly cooked, albeit ever so slightly more generous portions would be nicer, but all in all a most enjoyable evening which I would happily recommend to anyone. Thank you Sasso’s.
My wife and I stumbled upon Sasso after leaving another lunch venue for the lack of service. What good luck! Everything about our lunch visit was great. The set menu (we chose three courses was good value and had a wide selection. The service was really friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. I had crab cakes (crocchette? to start, salmon pasta parcels for main, then tiramisu to finish, with a glass of Sancerre. The starter and main dishes looked on the small side, but were rich and filling and just right. The tiramisu was a generous portion, but nice and light and, again, just right. The setting, just below ground, was nice. There was Christmas music on not too loud and there was a festive vibe with the staff dress too. We would definitely recommend the place, and I expect we will be back again in future. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Regular visitors often favour Sasso for evening dining over lunch—many reviews note the kitchen stretches a little further at night (extra tasters, more generous mains), so booking for dinner may reveal the restaurant at its most lavish.
