I moved to Harrison in July 2020, and La Joia is hands down the best restaurant in the town. Whether it?s takeout or dinning in the restaurant always expect: Generous Great sized portions, great drinks?try the Blue Sangria and then thank me later ????, and great service. Portuguese food with many different options, flavors and their presentation of the food is always embellished yet still always feels like a home cooked meal. La Joia always has daily specials which I see on their Instagram account. I even recommended the restaurant to a friend?s mother last month and I was told that she has now been there multiple times. Word of Mouth doesn?t do this place justice. Try it out yourself! Caution???Be prepared to take food home when you eat out here.
Joia is the go-to place for seafood in the area! Their paella and fried calamari are absolutely delicious, and all of their fried dishes are splendid. My personal favorite is the seafood platter, which comes in a large portion for a fair price. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. It's a great spot for casual dining or a romantic date. Despite the pandemic, Joia has maintained its food quality. Even their takeout and delivery orders come in surprisingly large portions. Highly recommend!
Food was great! Wait staff needs to be more educated on the availabilty of meals before convincing patrons to order them. Also if we have to have a substitution for something because the kitchen is out then we shouldn't be charged for that substitution. Not sure if I'll return
Seafood paella: Half lobster not full), 1 crab claw, rice is extremely salty, Lots of food in the dish can portion for several days) Surf and turf: No taste in lobster and meat. Do not recommend. Was not worth the price. Staff was friendly. Reallywanted to like this restaurant but food was not tasty. :
