I had a ver... read more Small taberna in the centre of Rioja ... just the bar and a few tables. Family run ... nice informal and cheerful atmosphere. Simple but tasty food. I had a very nice fish soup and fried fish (I guess mackerel). The owner -who works both in the kitchen and serve the customers- suggested me a very smart local wine to pair my fish lunch: Tempranillo Blanco (see picture). That man proved to be very friendly: being the last ones to be served, he stopped at our table discussing about wines and he even made me taste some other white wines ! If you are in the area -stop for a visit. Average prices for such a place.
