On Saturday, November 20, 2021, my family and I were looking forward to enjoying a meal at The Painted Lady. We had confirmed our reservation two days prior, but when we arrived, we struggled to find the location in the dark. We arrived on time and eager to enjoy a meal with my family at The Painted Lady on Saturday, November 20, 2021. I had confirmed our reservation two days prior, but when we got there, the entire restaurant was in darkness. There were no staff members present, no signs explaining the situation, and no one answered the phone when we called. Given that the restaurant imposes charges for no-shows or cancellations, we were quite disappointed not to receive any prior notification about a possible closure. As a result, we had to find another place to eat, which we were fortunate enough to find because it was a busy night. Overall, we were very upset by this experience.
The restaurant was closed for renovations, and I wasn't informed about the cancellation of my reservation. I won’t be returning.
Excellent staff, food was brilliant. I was struggling to choose a wine to compliment my food, the staff in the bar was very helpful and choose a brilliant wine. Can’t wait to go back for my next meal.
I love the new menu great choice of food which is reasonably priced. It’s wonderful to have such a good restaurant in the centre of Harlow. I particularly like the mixed mezze starter.
