Our usual Turkish restaurant had recently declined in quality. Since we wanted köfte, which the newer places didn't offer, we went here. I ordered both versions, and I have to say the chicken ones were even better than the original. It's a shame it's closing soon. Unfortunately, the number of similar restaurants has increased on Lister Meile, making it difficult to retain customers.
We ate köfte, and in the middle there was a large hot pepper because it was too spicy. It was actually a shame to put it on there. A little tzatziki or herbed quark would have gone better with it. Also, I thought it was a shame that we had two salads – one before and then another on the köfte platter.
We had a doner roll and a vegan doner kebab parcel and were a bit undecided. The chicken doner meat was juicy, but could have used more seasoning. The roll wasn't particularly seasoned, with only tzatziki sauce (we didn't ask if we wanted any other sauces). The salad was good, but overall rather bland. The vegan parcel contained an incredible amount of seitan, which tasted much more like grains than doner. It was also extremely oily and quite dense. I wouldn't order it again. There were also three different vegan sauces available, and the parcel had hummus on it. What was really great, however, was the homemade flatbread and the house-made wrap for the doner roll. It was really nice and thin and soft. Overall, we weren't impressed, but we would definitely come back for the bread and the wrap.
The doner kebab casserole was unfortunately inedible. The veal was extremely tough and gristly. The meat definitely didn't come from a doner kebab skewer, or it was the last remaining meat. And why there's bread in the casserole would be the next question.
Very delicious food. I had the Adana, and the portion was extremely large. The millet rice was delicious. The spicy sauce was really great. Special requests were accommodated by the very friendly staff. A really, really fair portion for the price. The Adana was huge, and it came with a sauce plate and a bread basket. The atmosphere was nice, and as mentioned, a really friendly staff member who handled my order and payment. Everything was great, I'd gladly go back
