What User doesn't like about Canal Cafe:
The food is really good! Great location! Unfortunately the service is awful. Some of the servers are miserable and they take their misery out on the customers. They are rude and obnoxious. They obviously do not enjoy what they do. If they don’t like their job quit. You would make a lot of customers very happy and maybe they will come back. The service was excellent, but the seafood was quite bland. The indoor seating was fine, but the outdoor area is located next to a parking lot by the water, which wasn't ideal.

The cocktail menu here is unique and creative. I highly recommend trying the Bad Hombre—it might just be the best drink I've ever had. It’s tequila-based and garnished with a piece of candied ginger on a stick. The menu is casual, featuring sandwiches, appetizers, and daily specials that I can never resist. On my last visit, my mom and I started with mussels in a delightful Thai curry sauce that struck a lovely balance between spicy and sweet, along with what I believe is the best New England clam chowder in the entire Hamptons. For our main courses, we both chose specials: she had a soft-shell crab BLT, while I opted for the lobster pasta special. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. I should mention that while this place is a bit on the pricier side, that's to be expected in the Hamptons. So, come prepared to spend a little! I noticed some reviews mentioning poor service, but thankfully, that hasn’t been my experience. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming, especially at the bar!
The best lobster rolls on the Island! This bustling and popular restaurant offers outstanding service. Just a tip: avoid following Waze directions, as it may lead you to the wrong location across the water. Instead, head to Hampton Watercraft Marina; the restaurant is conveniently located right behind it. You can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating options.
