Tarboosh - Hamilton

I enjoyed the meal and company with friends. It was at this restaurant that I learned what hummus is and gauge other's hummus what what I had here.

The lentil soup was watered down The wraps and any type of meat/combo meal was awful and made my family not feel too good afterwards.

My friend is a long time customer of Tarboosh and we stopped in for lunch the other day. The restaurant is a bit run down but the food was adequate for the price. I won't make a special trip to eat there but will probably eat there again if I am in the neighbourhood.

I tried this place for the first time today. Ordered the shish tawook ( chicken kebab) plate with salad and rice. I ordered the meal to go. The sides I ordered tasted better than my chicken. The chicken was so dry that I did not finish it.

Friend and I had stopped by this was a destination dinner - we came from out of town to eat here.We arrived for 9 o'clock; they are suppose to close at 11 on the evening we went which was a Saturday.The food was ordered and the clerk who was a older woman asked us if it was for "here or to go?." We specified we wanted to dine in - simple enough right? I thought so.As we stayed the clerks demeanor took a turn for worse. I had asked for additional food to go and a beverage - to which she would only provide the beverage and muttered some nonsense about having a wedding party to attend or serve? I'm not sure as she was not clear. I took my drink and returned to my seat with my friends - the entire time we ate she gawked at us and jingled her keys silently insinuating she wanted us to leave. We've never been made feel so uncomfortable.The open sign was on - no note of her needing to leave or formal communication to us so as we could dine out.What an atrocity for mediocre food which she burnt possibly on purpose.I didn't even finish my meal as I was about to unleash a verbal tongue lashing on her that would have certainly embarrassed our party and saw her head turn around like a scene from the exorcist.We left hungry, unsatisfied and angry. I couldn't even look at her face on the way out or speak to her.The older woman followed us out then shutting off the open sign. A business should commit to their posted hours or give formal public notice of early closure.Should have pressed her for a refund - likely looking into contacting the BBB.Save yourself money and heartache.Don't eat here.
