We were in Halifax for a few hours and took in the Nova Scotia Art Gallery, which is undergoing lengthy building works and hence free. Looking for a light lunch we went into the small cafe on the ground floor which was very clean and fresh looking. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady and enquired about a light lunch. The chef, Luther Shaver, makes great soups, and on our visit the choice was "Spiced Carrot and Roasted Apple Bisque" - delicious, with a little chilli oil on the surface giving it a splendid kick. It comes paired with a chicken pannini, we asked if we could share the one meal and were told "no problem"; so the waitress brought two cups of the delicious soup and the halved sandwich, thus providing one of those small lunches that was just right for the occasion.
This McDonald's is one of the cleanest and friendliest I have ever visited! Despite the crowd, the service was quick and efficient.
