We attended a Thursday at 6pm intending to eat the $9.99 all you can eat wings and ribs special, then gamble. At the door we saw that only half the tables were occupied yet we were told there would be about a one hour wait. We were given a pager device. After a 45 minute wait we were paged and seated. Again the restaurant was only about 2/3 full. My wife and I waited a full 15 minutes before our waitress approached us for the first time. We placed our order for the special. It was a further 30 minutes before the food was brought to our table. The food itself was very good. With fries and cole slaw it was well presented and tasty, absolutely no issues there. The value was excellent. Our waitress was also very good, apart from the slow ttendance and delivery. So why the long waits? Either it is deliberate in order to keep people in the casino while they wait (an offensive and abusive practise), or it is simply gross managerial incompetence. Either way, it reflects very poorly on the casino. We have experienced such long waits here on past occasions, though not always. As almost all in the restaurant were eating the special, preparation time should be close to zero.
This is a great restaurant even without taking advantage of a promotion, but when it is this good, it should not be missed. Tender Loin and Lobster Tail dinner. A great serving with potato and vegetable. But wait..... you can have extra tender loin and lobster x5. OH WOW!!!But, the special aside, the service is great. The menu is extensive. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is inviting. All with a view of the harbor. Perfect!
This is our second visit and both times the dining experience was so so. The prime rib on both occasions was overcooked - on one piece I got tired chewing. The lobster tails on this occasions faired much better the second time around. The tails this time were larger and cooked better. Our service on this evening lacked energy and was not attentive to our table of eight at all. Our drinks order arrived well after the initial meals were served. For the price and if you were willing not to eat the overcooked food but kept ordering until you got what you wanted - it would be a good deal. However for seasoned dinners if you missed this buffet it would not be the end of the world. I will not rush to go back. Not worth lining up at 4:00 pm for the doors opening at 5:00 pm. The casino cold come up with a better system. After all, all those people standing in line could be gambling!!
I just don’t get the negative reviews for this restaurant. I visited for lunch and had a lovely table with a view of the water. The food was fantastic—actually better and more affordable than other spots along the boardwalk. I'm quite a picky eater and won't put up with poor service, but I can honestly say this place exceeded my expectations. I ordered the burger, which was delicious, along with beer-battered fries. Others in my group had the haddock and fish and chips, and everyone was raving about the flavor and freshness of their meals. I suspect the negative reviews might be from those who are just grumpy after losing too much at the casino.
Overall, the food is quite good. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer all-you-can-eat prime rib and lobster tails (up to 5 tails per guest). The quality of the food is generally solid, but the cooking of the prime rib can be inconsistent. Sometimes it comes out medium, other times rare or even well done. My lobster tails were usually tasty, although they were occasionally slightly undercooked. The service could be a bit slow, but considering the price of $9.99, you really can't beat it.
