S... read more Followed a friend recommendation to visit the Hali Deli. We had the "Mish Mash Hash", which included smoked meet, fried potatoes with a couple of eggs on top. Surly a testy way to start a day trip in Halifax :-).

It was very tasty (maybe a little fattier) and the... read more Having recently had a few smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal I was eager to try the smoked meat at Hali Deli. It was very tasty (maybe a little fattier) and the generous portion of home cut fries were very good. The coleslaw had a nice little tang to it. The day we were there it was busy and service was fast, friendly and efficient. The vibe and decor is definitely casual and classic deli-funky. The floor isn't the cleanest and the building isn't the newest. But there was lots of appealing food on the menu and I look forward to going back.

The waitres... read more I had such hopes for this please. I walked in and it felt like i was steeping back in time. My BF and I found a nice table menus were already on it. The waitress seemed a little fluster and buzzing around, It wasn't that busy for and Tuesday around 2ish. We made our orders and waited. My Bf ordered the smoked meat sandwich and me.... i ordered the smoked meat club. when it arrived it was huge, i dived right in. it was good untill i hit BONE #1...... my front tooth hit a inch long bone with a stop. i spit it out and placed it on my plate .....things like that don't bother me to much but then it was Bones 2 and 3 and i was done . I very quietly told our waitress whom just shrugged it off like that was a daily occurrence and then told the cook (a woman with short hair) and she didnt seem to care. The bill arrived ......not that i am complaining but reallllly they should have taken a little off the bill.....i couldnt finish what we had ordered my tooth was hurting....and a day later my tooth still hurts. An apology when i happened would have been great. I WILL NOT GO BACK because of there lack of care of there client. Caring goes a long way.........

I’ve been eating here for years and I’ve only recently tried the Reuben instead of the smoked meat... read more If you’re into Smoked Meat than you need to hit up Hali Deli. I’ve been eating here for years and I’ve only recently tried the Reuben instead of the smoked meat sandwich and I’ve converted to the Reuben from now on! It’s so good and so are the fries. Their brunch is tasty as well but it’s only on weekends. I really like their Benny for brunch but they stop serving it early so get there before 2pm if you want to try it. CASH ONLY.
