I was exploring Halifax and saw this place near the public gardens, they have the best iced mocha that I've ever had. I'll be back next time I'm in the city, they're great. And the barista was very friendly. Service: Takeaway Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The server was wonderful, they were friendly and helpful. And made me the best iced mocha I have ever had. I made sure to get a stamp card, as I will definitely be a regular from now on! Service: Takeaway Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Love this place! Their seasonal menus are always fun and creative and I can trust my favourites on the main menus to always be banging! The staff is great, the vibes are fantastic (their instagram is super funny and they post about events in store and local all the time you should follow them). My favourite cafe in Halifax! They still do masking Sundays and a bunch of other accessibility features which makes it not only diverse but accessible and welcoming for EVERYONE! Many will say this but the glitter bean DELIVERS! I went to try their popular rainbow fairy latte and a vegan baked good, but unfortunately they were sold out of both. The atmosphere was cool with plenty of seating, but it seemed like the inside and bathrooms were a bit dirty. This review was updated on February 12, 2024.

The restaurant offers a variety of milk alternatives and their Staff of Life vegan patty and veggie samosas are simply irresistible! I must also mention that the staff is fantastic and Glitter Bean is a welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community. A fantastic spot for the community!

I had a pleasant experience at this cafe. The staff weren't very friendly and it was a bit confusing on how to order their specialty glitter drinks. Despite this, I would like to return in the future because I enjoy their concept.

Offers soy and almond milk for their lattes. They have vegan samosas for sale and other treats. Staff are always friendly.

A new cafe is in town and run by former Smiling Goat baristas. This is a safe space for the LGBT community and it has the flare and attitude to boot. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian style converted home but stunning vintage fireplaces, crown molding and wood floors. It's a large space and there's lots of seating. The menu includes soy and almond milk for the vegans in the city and they have a selection of treats available. Vegan PB cups and granola bars are available. They also have a lot of different flavour syrups. So happy so many cafes are becoming vegan-friendly.

I was thrilled to discover a charming LGBTQ+ friendly cafe in the heart of downtown. I had been eager to visit Glitter Bean and I was not let down. The staff is incredibly welcoming and unlike many other coffee shops in the city, there is plenty of seating available. It's a bright and inviting atmosphere, and I will definitely be returning!

I am eagerly anticipating the opening of this restaurant. It will be a hub for planning and strategizing, the perfect place for gatherings and meetings. <3

I am familiar with many of the baristas at this cafe, and they have always been some of the most welcoming and supportive individuals. I am thrilled that this new cafe will be operated by the right people. I am looking forward to the opening and believe it is important to have a queer-centered space like this coffee shop. ❤️

A wonderful spot to get great coffee (the glitter is optional from friendly queers they also sell prints, little zines, and patches. I was excited to find a cafe in Halifax where I can feel comfortable and not questioned as there's definitely not an abundance of trans inclusive (and trans focused : spaces. There's gender neutral washrooms, plant milk for your coffee, and a really friendly and positive atmosphere so there's no reason for me to ever go for coffee elsewhere when I'm in Hfx.

This cafe in Halifax is the ultimate queer-friendly spot with a welcoming atmosphere and incredible coffee options. The staff are friendly and amazing. Menu favorites include blueberry tea, iced oat chai latte, iced mocha, citrus glazed sugar cookies, veggie samosa, and dishes with edible glitter. The veggie samosa with mango chutney is a must-try for vegetarians. They also offer dairy-free options and nut-free baked goods for those with dietary restrictions.

One of my favorite spots in Kjipuktuk! Glitter Bean is a welcoming chill space for many queer people in the area. Masks are required while ordering– this small gesture makes a HUGE positive difference to immunocompromised folks like myself. Lots of dairy free and locally sourced options for food and drink. Highly recommend the shop-exclusive Fairy Latte and the ol ' faithful Iced Chai Latte. The staff are lovely and the vibes in here are fantastic! [Edit: the space is wheelchair accessible I didn 't know!! Sorry about that]Dietary restrictions: Oat, soy, and almond milk are available instead of standard cow 's milk.

An essential destination for trendy coffee lovers of all orientations! Every drink and treat I've tried at The Bean has been life-changing. The staff always have the perfect recommendations when I can't decide, and the unique decor, special events, and charming consignment store upstairs make me want to visit every day. But what really stood out was the veggie bagel sandwich I had today - it satisfied a craving I didn't even know I had. The next time you're in the mood for a fun drink or snack, you know where to go! <3

I have visited the Glitter Bean Cafe several times and the food was excellent! The atmosphere was decent, but not very cozy. I admire Glitter Bean's mission and I think there should be more places that are as inclusive as them. However, every time I have visited, the staff were unfortunately very cold and unwelcoming. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but myself and others I have spoken to have felt the same way.

So happy and appreciative to have this cafe in the city! One point of feedback though is that I wish they communicated more when they’re closing early. Not everyone is on socials and most times when they post that there’s an event happening they don’t clarify if the cafe will be closed and when (some events the seating’s stayed opened and others it hasn’t).Putting a sign on the front door or at the register saying they’re closing early and when could help. There’s been a few times I’ve spent over $12 on coffee and a baked good, and then was asked to leave 20 minutes later cause there’s an event.

The café is really nice! However, when I left, the staff didn't seem very friendly and it wasn't clear how to order their special sparkling colored drinks. I would like to return in the future because I love the history of the place!
