The café is really nice! However, when I left, the staff didn't seem very friendly and it wasn't clear how to order their special sparkling colored drinks. I would like to return in the future because I love the history of the place! View all feedback.
What Kristen Cushing doesn't like about Glitter Bean:
I have visited the Glitter Bean Cafe several times and the food was excellent! The atmosphere was decent, but not very cozy. I admire Glitter Bean's mission and I think there should be more places that are as inclusive as them. However, every time I have visited, the staff were unfortunately very cold and unwelcoming. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but myself and others I have spoken to have felt the same wa... View all feedback.
Comfy, Cozy, Safe.Wonderful quiet atmosphere and a safe space for family and friends.Staff are fantastic and I cant think of a better place to cozy up with a book on a rainy day.
An absolute gem of a place. Excellent food, excellent drinks! We had the grilled cheese and the samosa everything amazing, even their takeout. Chai latte and fairy latte are amazeballs. We'll definitely return and make this a regular stop, even if outside our neighborhood.
One of my favorite spots in Kjipuktuk! Glitter Bean is a welcoming chill space for many queer people in the area. Masks are required while ordering– this small gesture makes a HUGE positive difference to immunocompromised folks like myself. Lots of dairy free and locally sourced options for food and drink. Highly recommend the shop-exclusive Fairy Latte and the ol ' faithful Iced Chai Latte. The staff are lovely and the vibes in here are fantastic! [Edit: the space is wheelchair accessible I didn 't know!! Sorry about that]Dietary restrictions: Oat, soy, and almond milk are available instead of standard cow 's milk.
So happy and appreciative to have this cafe in the city! One point of feedback though is that I wish they communicated more when they’re closing early. Not everyone is on socials and most times when they post that there’s an event happening they don’t clarify if the cafe will be closed and when (some events the seating’s stayed opened and others it hasn’t).Putting a sign on the front door or at the register saying they’re closing early and when could help. There’s been a few times I’ve spent over $12 on coffee and a baked good, and then was asked to leave 20 minutes later cause there’s an event.
Great experience, and great values served up with coffee that's both tasty and fun.
