Was Anonym at Fred's Restaurant a mag?
We were vacationing in Halifax and on a walk from our rental stay. We came across this unique place and we were a little hungry. We had a FABULOUS breakfast and as we were ready to continue, Fred (we did not know at the time...) showed up and provided us with a great map of the areas attractions (cool and unique places to visit), he pointed out places to eat in Lunenburg, where we were heading the next day, and sugge... What Anonym dislikes about Fred's Restaurant:
Lunch at Fred's is in a small space wedged between the hair salon and the front door. The other side is now home to Statement Furniture. A mix that seems to work okay but compared to the old format dining seems like the odd man out. Food is still good. Orzo salad always my favourite and once and awhile a cupcake is worth the calories! I had been meaning to visit this restaurant for the past few years but kept forgetting about it. I also hadn't taken the time to look it up online before.

I have finally had the opportunity to do so. I must say, I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with colorful decor and Latin music playing softly in the background. The menu offered a variety of traditional Latin American dishes, and I decided to try the empanadas and the carne asada. Both dishes were delicious, with authentic flavors and generous portions. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Overall, I had a great meal at this Latin American restaurant and I will definitely be returning in the future.

My fiancé, a friend, and I recently had a delightful breakfast at this charming restaurant. The ambiance is perfect for intimate gatherings like ours.

Another north end treasure. FRED's is attracting an interesting following with the bright atmosphere, local art gallery and family dinners. I have only had lunch but it is a bright atmosphere, healthy menu options and nice wines to pair. The food has never failed to surprise me - decisions are always difficult. Great spot to dine alone and enjoy the art.

Part cafe, part spa, part coffee shop, Fred's is an interesting concept. On a Tuesday at lunch it was quite busy, and service was slow. The food was great, I had the lobster mac & cheese which was not too rich and filled with cherry tomatoes and lobster. My friend has gluten allergies, and they were able to provide gluten-free bread (at an extra cost of $2) for her "breakfast" panini, and they also had a gluten-free brownie with delicious peanut butter icing. I had the pecan tart which was pretty good as well.
