This restaurant is fantastic - the food and service are both top-notch. The portion sizes are very generous. The only small issue was that our French fries seemed overcooked and reheated. I should have mentioned it to our server. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the meal. View all feedback.
What C C doesn't like about Finbar's Irish Pub:
My colleagues went to lunch at this establishment today. We arrived at 12:05 ordered at 12:20 and as it was fast approaching 1pm we told our server we needed to go back to work. We then asked for our food to go as it was 12:55. Our food came out at 1:10 pm. Worst customer service on the planet and to make it sting even more they didn't offer a discount, just a sorry apology. Ok we know people are short staffed but du... View all feedback.
Stopped in to our favourite pub before taking our son to the airport a family ritual before any flights. What has been a consistently positive experience at Finbars was not to be on this Sunday. Seated as soon as we walked in. Order drinks but sorry no Harp. Oh well. Order apps. After some time, informed there are no mussels. Hmm. Onion rings arrive after too long a wait and are on the slightly greasy side and appear to have been quickly dumped on the plate. Not great. Then the long wait for our mains. We were in no big hurry but when people who came in after us are eating their burgers. Well. The mains finally arrive and two are satisfied with theirs. The shrimp/lobster risotto was an expensive disappointment. Totally dry and kinda lumpy. Our server was flying around, trying to look after all his tables. I was impressed with how he managed but it really didn’t lend itself to a relaxing dining experience. After what has always been such fun and satisfying visits, this was more than a little disappointing. Certainly hoping this is just a rare occurrence.
Service is terrible. Wait up to 20 minutes for drink. Food is ok but often Finbars is out of items affecting the meal ordered; also don’t tell you until you notice.
I was ready for some relaxation after a 14 hour work day which ended with me being caught in a snow storm, on my way to Halifax. The amazing service, food atmosphere recharged my batteries. Great spot if you are a solo traveller a people watcher. Lots of “quiet” spots where you can enjoy the atmosphere, fantastic food drinks observe the crowd. Staff are just as attentive to one as they are to a table of 10. My new fave in Bedford.
We’ve been to this restaurant several times but the last couple of times we’ve gone the food has not been good. On the latest visit the spinach/artichoke dip had a terrible smell to it and the nachos were lukewarm with about half as many toppings as there were in the past. The service has always been excellent.
I don’t know what happened to Finbars in Bedford but the quality of food has gone downhill. We used to go at least twice a month. New Chef maybe? It no longer has the buffalo wings, my fries were super salty and our nachos hardly had anything on them. We are residents of Bedford and we have gone twice to the Portland Hill location and it is worth the drive. Our appetizers and food were delicious. Even my salad was better than the Bedford location. An overall better experience in Portland hills location. Better menu and more food as well
