Birch Anchor - Halifax

I see the Birch and Anchor logo every time I take the Bedford Highway and yes it picked my curiosity. Decided to go have a steak after church today and on getting there at 1pm, we were told they were still serving the brunch menu and would start serving the dinner menu at 5pm. The brunch menu had lots of salads, teas, eggs and just 1 burger meal. Had to order the burger meal since I was very hungry. The meal was okay, the potato side was nice, environment lovely, waitresses were helpful, band playing serenading music and altogether a good experience. I will definitely visit to try the dinner menu.

Very nice place , experience was interesting with the dome shaped outdoor heated dining . Will likely come back. I had the steak and fries . Steak was great quality but not tasty. Could have been more seasoned with garlic and spices. I should have asked for HP or Steak Sauce . Bill was $60 bucks with tip. A bit high but isn't everything priced high now ? Other than that I would come back with friends next time. Ron G

The pork belly and scallops were really good, but the bread which came with my seafood chowder was not good at all. The seafood chowder didn?t have much seafood and I am assuming that the bread was frozen and heated in the microwave. It was really hard and dry. I can also see the mark left on the bread.

An excellent experience! Truly. Our server was an absolute gem, sweet to us and surrounding tables. She brought a bowl of water for our pup and another when our pup tipped it over. It is a beautiful location on the water with lots of entertainment space without crowding everyone together. Outdoor bathrooms so you don't have to wayfind through the restaurant. We adored our experience. Highly recommend.

Great food and a fantastic outdoor set up! The pizza is light and perfectly cooked. The meatloaf skewers were really good, but the chimichurri was amazing. Drinks were good, and all around reasonably priced.
