**Dining at Five Fishermen: A Mixed Experience in Halifax** Five Fishermen offers a vibrant atmosphere, excellent service, and a diverse seafood menu that leaves patrons divided. While many guests rave about the delightful mussels, expertly crafted cocktails, and beautifully presented dishes, others have reported issues with reservations, service delays, and inconsistent food quality. Certain dishes, like the lobster tail, have been noted as overcooked. However, the attentive staff and some standout meals, including the Cape D’Or salmon, ensure that visitors often leave satisfied. Was Kristy Chi at 5 Social a mag?
We started with mussels and truffle fries. Both very good, especially the aioli that came with the fries. For mains we had the lobster dish (all claw meat) and the Salmon. Both cooked perfectly and good portions. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and prices, for a dinner out in downtown Halifax, were reasonable. Definitely recommend. View all feedback.
What Norbert Hauck dislikes about 5 Social:
Hello, after arriving in the restaurant, the girls at the entrance ddor told us, that our reservation could not be find. The next answer was, that the kitchen will close at 8pm und we have only ten minutes left to decide, but it was at least 8:20pm ?!? Next they offert us a table next to the door in an empty part of the restaurant. So it was clear for us, that they didn 't want to have a family like us in their resta... View all feedback.
Our reservation was at 8. It took awhile for the server to come to us, but once they did, they was lovely. Unfortunately, we felt rushed because the kitchen would be closing at 9

I was so disappointed in this restaurant. We went Saturday night at 7pm and there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant- first bad sign. The lights were full brightness which killed the ambiance. We ordered oysters and they arrived in takeaway ramekins- for the price point, this is completely unacceptable. The oysters were super small and simply not good. We also ordered the lobster pasta and it was salty mac and cheese with lobster on top. There are so many great restaurants in the city- I’d skip this one! Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1
