Highlanders Bar - Haliburton

We popped into this restaurant/bar while in Minden, ON on vacation at Twelve Mile Lake. We were at the craft show and decided to stop in for a nice meal. We were a party of 8 and everyone ordered something different. ALL loved the food and ICE COLD BEER to fill us up and cool us down. We will be back!!!

Food was okay, was very busy and i think they were short of staff. would like to go another time maybe when less busy.

I had dinner here. The butter chicken was good but the ambience was kind of empty and tired. Not a cozy pub atmosphere. Great location on the main street of Haliburton and servers were friendly. This place seems to be finding its groove.

I came here a couple times during the course of week for Drinks today I decided to have lunch. I also love a good Buffalo sandwich or rap Today I was very disappointed it was not in Buffalo sauce but some spicy Sweet N Sour creation. It was good but don't call something it is not, Buffalo Sauce is not oriental... I wonder if this is what happens when the cook is Oriental .... very disappointed. now I know why it is dead when all other restaurants are packed with lines waiting

We went to this restaurant twice. The first time was decent - not outstanding, but we enjoyed our steak and thought the price was fair. However, the service was slow and not as friendly and welcoming as we have experienced at other restaurants during our holiday in Canada. On our second visit, which happened to be "wing night," we felt rushed to order and watched as our food sat on the side while our waitress chatted with her friend. The ribs were not hot and very dry, and no one checked in on us like they did during our first visit. The staff didn't seem overwhelmed with customers but were too preoccupied chatting with each other and people they knew. It's a shame because the potential for this place is there.
