This restaurant is old-fashioned and simple, but they serve delicious ice cream and grilled dishes. There are not many places like this left. I visited for the first time in 45 years and was amazed to see that it still looked the same as I remembered. It was a nostalgic experience enjoying sandwiches and milkshakes. I hope to return sooner next time! The food even tasted just like I remembered. View all feedback.
What Trista H doesn't like about Hewitt's Dairy Bar:
The service at this restaurant is awful. Although I enjoy Hewitt's ice cream and milkshakes, the current crew working there lacks basic customer service skills. It's frustrating to see the staff engaged in constant private conversations while ignoring customers, causing long wait times for orders. After a disappointing experience, we have no plans to return to this establishment. View all feedback.
Our bus tour stopped off at Hewitt's Dairy bar for ice cream, we had over 45 people and the staff were excellent in serving us in a timely fashion, my wife had burgundy cherry and I had banana and cherry. The ice cream was fantastic.
I liked this place. I had the sugarless strawberry and it was excellent! They do not try to push sugary cones. There was a line up, but service was good. It is a bit of a confusing place to enter. I was told the ice cream is made of goat's milk, but I don't have confirmation of this. if you happen to be passing by on the highway, it is a place worth stopping at.

I was very disappointed with the poor quality and flavor of the ice cream at this restaurant. As someone who has been going to Hewitt's since I was a child and has taken my own kids there over the years, I always found it worth the trip for the delicious taste and high quality. However, this time the ice cream was bland, lacked strong flavors (the chocolate didn't taste like chocolate), was not creamy, and was overpriced. Overall, it was not worth the drive to Hewitt's anymore.
