What macedonboy dislikes about Hoxtons:
I ordered a baked potato with beans. I had never experienced an undercooked baked potato before, whether I cooked it myself or someone else did. That changed today. While it wasn't completely uncooked, it was a bit too firm for my liking, but still edible. The prices at this restaurant are reasonable for this area of London, which is why I am giving Hoxtons an extra star. View all feedback.

While helping my daughter move into her flat, we started to feel hungry. I stopped by this cozy cafe/restaurant and ordered a tuna mayonnaise and salad sandwich on whole wheat bread. The sandwich was freshly made for me... When I got back to the flat, I must say I really enjoyed the taste and quality. I will definitely be returning!

I went to Hoxtons with a friend today and the staff greeted us with big smiles, even though the shop was already busy. The service was outstanding, with helpful advice on cake choices. I settled on a delicious chocolate slice, which was divine when paired with a glass of prosecco. What sets this place apart is the personal touch - you truly feel valued as a customer, something that is often missing in chain coffee shops.

We were aiming for a pub mentioned in our guidebook, but we had grandchildren aged 11 and 15 with us and the pub didn 't serve kids after 6:30. They suggested Hoxton to our daughter-in-law, which I heard as Hawk 's Den. A noisy, bustling place with good food and cheerful service, located in a hotel of the same name. Most of us had one of the relatively inexpensive steaks they offered and they all were good.

Brilliant place, good for local drinks and food. funky area with good vibe. look forward to coming back in the near future.

Nestled in a bustling area of London, Hoxtons captures diners with its cozy ambiance and competitive pricing. Diners rave about the generous portions, from hearty baked potatoes to satisfying Full English breakfasts, while the friendly staff enhances the experience with attentive service. The café's charm lies in its freshly made sandwiches and delightful pastries, complemented by recommendations that make each visit feel personal. Families appreciate the welcoming atmosphere, where everyone, including kids, can enjoy good food. With its comforting offerings and genuine hospitality, Hoxtons is a culinary retreat worth revisiting.

A cozy little place with hard to beat prices. The jacket potato was quite enjoyable, a huge meal for me. Regular fried eggs for my friend. Great service, lovely staff.

A lovely spot to sit down to lunch or nurse some coffees in the afternoon and watch the world go by.  There are only 5 or 6 tables arranged along floor length wrap around picture windows overlooking the intersection of hipster central at Old Street and Charlotte Road/Rufus Street.  We arrived at late at 14:00 when there were plenty of tables.  I imagine it could be busy here with office workers between 12:00 and 13:00. Hoxton's is a basic independent sandwich shop and breakfast bar, that also offers a couple of cantine style warm meals at lunchtime.  Today there was chilli con carne with rice, shepherd's pie, and a couple of pasta dishes.  The two daily sandwich specials were steak, onion and rocket as well as chorizo, grilled veg and rocket.  I requested a toasted ciabatta with prosciutto, grilled vegetables and mozzarella.  My companion ordered the chilli. The ingredients going into my sandwich were all of good quality.  However, the amount of filing used was quite modest.  A single layer of ham, a thin layer of mozarella, a scatter of good grilled veg consisting of mostly paprika and courgette and a bit of rocket.  it was tasty enough though.  My companion complained that his chilli was boring due to lack of spice.  There was no cumin and virtually no chilli powder.  It did taste predominantly of meat and beans. That said, lunch was cheap and I would be happy to return.  I'll stick to strongly flavored compound sandwich fillings given the modest amount used.  The daily sandwich specials did sound attractive.

Good bagels and more convenient if you're too lazy to head to brick lane.
