What SweetestThistle doesn't like about 119 Lower Clapton:
It's kinda like walking into an office, the amount of people nursing single coffees whilst hunched over their laptops is unreal. I asked a dude, out of politeness, if I could sit at the communal ! table and he huffed at me as though it were some great inconvenience. OK mate, maybe work from home in future. Rude customers aside, food in 119 is great as is the tea, coffee can be hit or miss. Staff super friendly. View all feedback.
This is a wonderful café with incredibly friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere for dogs. I adore their music, coffee, and delicious cakes. It's a popular spot for people to come and work, and the atmosphere is always filled with like-minded individuals. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great place to work or relax.
I went to this restaurant to work on my computer, which was not an issue. The staff was friendly, the coffee was decent, and although the matcha was a bit pricey, I really enjoyed it. I am happy to have a place like this nearby.
I visited a trendy independent cafe in Clapton over the weekend and it was packed! There was electric music playing in the background and large communal tables for sharing.
We had a delicious brunch at 119, with a juicy banana and honey on sourdough toast, as well as a savory avocado and chopped egg on sourdough toast. The ice cream and apple juice were both excellent choices for drinks, with the option of sweetened or unsweetened. The minimalist ambiance provided a peaceful atmosphere for dining, with interesting decor adding a touch of intrigue. The service was friendly and the overall vibe was great. Our only suggestion would be for 119 to offer more mix-and-match options for their sourdough spreads, as there are so many to choose from. We enjoyed our meal so much that we split another plate to try a variety of flavors. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.
The Piccolo at this restaurant is fantastic - it's strong, perfectly balanced, with just a hint of sour notes. It's a great spot to work on a laptop during the week or catch up with friends on the weekend.
