Was Christina R at Old San Juan Express a mag?
Delicious. Have been going here for years! Take out is just as good as dining in. We were sad when they had to close their larger location but this is just as great! View all feedback.

When I called to express my concerns, the woman on the phone claimed to be the owner. I wouldn't eat there again, even if it were free. I ordered arroz con gandules with pernil and two alcapurrias to go, but they weren't ready by the time I finished my meal—only one was prepared. Be cautious, as they automatically add a 20% tip to your bill without asking. Overall, not good service at all.
Food isn't very good for what they charge. I've had way better in jersey city.
Excellent place for authentic Puerto Rican food like if your abuela was making it! Great people. Family owned and run.
Boozy Burbs-Bergen has been labeled as one of the best Puerto Rican restaurants in New Jersey, but I completely disagree. The food didn't impress me, and the thing that annoyed me the most was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. I would recommend staying away from this place; it’s not worth it!
This restaurant is delicious they accommodate your request and give you what you want with grace and patience .. the Flavor is true Puerto Rican flavors and not mixed with different cultures .. I can say it is a true PR old San Juan flavor .. highly recommended
In the vibrant world of Puerto Rican cuisine, one restaurant garners mixed reviews. Many patrons praise the delectable flavors and authentic dishes, such as mofongo and empanadas, celebrating their comforting quality and generous portions. However, consistent issues with customer service and cleanliness detract from the experience. Complaints range from unprepared food and high prices to staff attitudes and billing discrepancies. While some loyal customers vouch for the establishment's potential, others express frustration over mandatory tipping and a lack of transparency in pricing. This local gem showcases a dichotomy of culinary delights set against a backdrop of operational challenges.

This restaurant is exceptionally clean, and the food was outstanding. I had beans and rice with roasted pork, and it was incredibly tender with a delicious flavor. The waiter, who is also the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! The service was fantastic!
I visited yesterday and really enjoyed the food—kudos to the team! It's my second time coming, and I'm from Virginia. However, I was quite frustrated by the mandatory tip. I typically prefer to tip based on the service I receive, and I often give more than the suggested amount. By forcing a tip, you've actually lost out on what I would have given! Despite this, I will definitely return because I love this restaurant and highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed the friendly service, and the food was fantastic with an amazing presentation on my plate! It was a wonderful experience, and I've already begun recommending Old San Juan to others. Thank you, and God bless! P.S. The coconut flan is incredible!
Haven't been here in awhile how I have missed this place, the food was great and the service as well..Keep up the good work Osj I'll definitely be back...
Loved the mofongo!! i ordered for take-out but the staff were great.

The food is delicious but quite salty—maybe even too salty. I don't really notice much seasoning beyond the salt, but it is well-prepared otherwise. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
The food was quite enjoyable, and the service was satisfactory as well. We ordered chicken chicharrón and chicken mofongo. Be aware that they automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill. There's also an extra tip line and a suggested tip chart, so it's easy to overlook and end up giving more if you're not paying attention. However, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. Overall, we had a great time and appreciated the delicious food and attentive service.
I also requested an extra sauce, only to have the price change on me multiple times while I waited. They adjusted my bill three times in front of me, citing various mistakes. When I called to express my concerns, the woman on the phone claimed to be the owner. This is just poor business all around—this establishment has really gone downhill.
I was a little skeptical at first to come here, but gosh I don’t regret it! This is amazing Puertorican food. Our waitress was so sweet. I had the Trifongo which is a mix of Yuca, sweet plantain and platano verde not sure how I would describe this in English) but it’s unsweetened a little harder platano with pork grinds mix into it. They add their signature garlic sauce shrimp and it taste amazing!!!!
Lousy customer service, lady behind the counter has a lousy attitude. The place is very empty and that should be the indicator enough. Apparently there is a limit on ordering as well. I needed appetizers for a small gathering and I was told the max I could order was 8, my guest list was 20 people. No prices listed anywhere and for the 8 alcapurria I ordered to pay $35 is ridiculous and way overrated. I will never order from this restaurant again!

I absolutely love this place! The Pernil and pork chops are especially delicious. On days when I don’t feel like cooking, I order from here, and my family can’t even tell the difference. What more can I say? The food is fantastic, 100%! I really appreciate the owners; they are wonderful people. Plus, her coquito is the best—just like my grandmother used to make.
The maduros tasted as if they were old or gone bad I couldnt eat it. The pernil wasnt treat good either. A lot of it was fat. The rice tasted like it was old rice not freshly cooked. Im disappointed being that I spent $50 on our family meal.
The highlight of the meal was the roast pork, which was fantastic. The arroz con gandules was excellent as well! However, the tostones were a bit dry. The flan, on the other hand, was amazing.
The steak was tough and not cooked rare as I requested. The rice was also hard.
Great Food! Roasted chicken and rice and beans, wonderful!
