Mazza Falafel - Hackensack
Mazza Falafel
Description
A neighborhood halal spot praised for standout falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush and tender chicken kebab with generous portions and friendly staff. Convenient for takeout with easy street parking, it’s popular with nearby hospital workers. However, inconsistent mezze combos, service and delivery lapses, phone/ordering failures, and serious cleanliness concerns (including reports of grit in meat and lax PPE use) undermine reliability despite several excellent dishes.

Ordered on Uber eats. My food never arrived. It’s been an hour over supposed delivery time. When I called them to find out where my food is they said it’s on the way. It’s been 20 mins and the food still isn’t on the way. I try to call back and they keep forwarding my calls to voicemail. Don’t order from here. Awful customer service.
The people were nice but the food was just barely alright. Falafel was probably the only thing that was on par with what you get in most places but the flavor in the hummus, the salad, and even the pita were lacking. It’s unfortunate because it could have potential being so close the hospital and many businesses but you can get better quality from a halal truck on the street.
First time trying this place today and it was delicious I ordered the falafel platter. Everything was fresh and the portion was more than enough for me. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu.
