Was Elena Eisenbraun at Big Dipper a mag?
Great little place to stop and have a treat without having to detour off the highway. Inside and outside seating offered with a bright and cheery feel. We ordered old fashioned ice cream scoops in waffle Cones which came generously portioned at an incredibly reasonable price. They had a huge selection of icecream flavors (20? as well as other ice cream concotions and several (5+ kinds of home made pies and multiple o... View all feedback.
What Scott Lawrence dislikes about Big Dipper:
The Big Dipper raised some red flags for me. I ended up with an awful stomach ache, and now we need a new toilet. While the food was actually quite good, I still have my doubts about it. View all feedback.

This establishment has new owners. We come up to this area yearly and have always enjoyed the food and great ice cream! Sad to see now though that there are no more homemade pies.
Great place to go for a wrap or just an ice cream. We go many times every summer! Don't be suprised or discouraged if the line is out the door. They are work fast and always extremely friendly, so it's worth the wait!
New owners. New menu. My chicken bacon wrap was awesome, but, the fries were to done for our taste.
Amazing because it's pretty cheap and has amazing ice cream and pie. Overall the staff is nice and it's a great place.
Great selection of ice cream and homemade goodies. Great people too.
The Big Dipper offers a charming mix of delicious food and exceptional ice cream that leaves a lasting impression. Guests rave about the mouthwatering California burger, flavorful pork tenderloin sandwich, and standout deep-fried mushrooms, alongside a knockout order of fries. While the establishment has recently changed ownership, the delightful atmosphere and attentive service remain intact, making it a family-friendly destination. Diners appreciate the extensive ice cream selection, including unique flavors, though note it is cash-only, with an ATM nearby. Despite a few minor issues, like menu accessibility, many agree this is a must-visit spot in Hackensack.

The restaurant no longer serves burgers, but their ice cream and wraps are still fantastic!
We loved finding this gem of an ice cream stop while on vacation. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Cash only, no cards to pay.
I was going to Longville Minnesota for ice cream and I found the road is closed. I turnaround back to Hackensack and I was lucky to find this ice cream shop Great selection of ice cream, food, and other treats. For me the google maps location was a block off, but we found the spot after looking around a bit . It was cash only when we went, but there is a bank with an ATM across the street and they allowed us to walk over and get cash
Great selection of ice cream, food, and other treats. For me the google maps location was a block off, but we found the spot after looking around a bit (glad we did). It was cash only when we went, but there is a bank with an ATM across the street and they allowed us to walk over and get cash while the kiddos ate their ice cream
This is one of Hackensack's hidden treasures! A must-visit when you're in the area! They offer fantastic ice cream, delicious pies, and tasty food!

It was our first visit to The Big Dipper, and I have to say, I had the Californian burger, which I believe is the best burger I've ever tasted. My partner tried the pig tail sandwich and thought it was amazing as well. We also ordered the deep-fried mushrooms, which were absolutely perfect. We got a side of fries and ended up bringing some home because we ordered too much. We were too full for dessert, but we will definitely return next time we are in the area. The service was fantastic, and even the café staff were incredibly sweet. I highly recommend that anyone visiting Hackensack make sure to stop by this place—you won’t be disappointed!

This was our first time visiting the Big Dipper, and it certainly won't be our last! I ordered the California burger, and I genuinely believe it's the best burger I've ever had. My husband chose the pork tenderloin sandwich, which he also deemed the best. We also tried the deep-fried mushrooms, and they were absolutely perfect. We both got a side of fries and ended up bringing some home because we simply couldn't finish them. Although we were too full for dessert this time, we're definitely planning to come back for ice cream when we're in the area. The service was outstanding, and the café had such a charming décor. If you're in Hackensack, make sure to stop by this place—you won't be disappointed!
