First Garden Chinese - Guilford
First Garden Chinese
Description
First Garden Chinese Restaurant in Guilford has garnered mixed reviews, showcasing both highs and lows in its culinary offerings. While many praise the friendly staff and generous portions, others find certain dishes lacking in flavor. Diners appreciate reasonable prices and an extensive menu, contributing to its popularity among locals. Since new ownership, some have noted improvements, particularly in plated delicacies like shrimp with vegetables and chicken with broccoli. However, inconsistent quality in staples, such as the overly sweet General Tso chicken, suggests room for growth. Overall, First Garden remains a go-to spot for fans of Chinese cuisine.

Exactly the same delicious Chinese food you’ve come to expect. They don’t always understand so it’s best to go by their menu numbers. But the food is great, fast, reasonable and a true guilty pleasure.
Awful . Cold wonton soup he literally made while I waited. Awful pork lo mein tasted like cabbage. Pork fried rice full of bean sprouts for some reason zero flavor. Greasy egg rolls because the oil is to cold. Has been going down hill for the past few years. I'm done never again.
Asian cuisine as you would expect it, crunchy, crispy gently fried and delicious! The egg rolls are wonderful and the meals are inexpensive. I've had First Garden's food before and I'll return in the future.
Have been ordering from here since they opened. But, things haxe changed since John the owner left. You cannot chane anything on the dishes and cannot special order anything. It also tastes like too much MSG, everything too salty. I recommend asking for no MSG when ordering, otherwise food is good, and people are friendly. either. John was very flexible and let you you you customize your dish. They a
This is a take out place. We were staying in the hotel across the street. We walked, bought the food, and ate it back at the hotel room. The menu is pretty extensive and the food is reasonably priced, there's something for everyone. I think a lot of the locals buy food from there, since a few people walked in and out to pick up their orders, while we were waiting for ours. My husband and I enjoyed the food and the big portions. I had chicken and broccoli with fried rice and my husband had the pork ribs with fried rice. Also, we bought two egg rolls and we weren't able to eat all the food in one sitting.
