Pasta Bolognese was really good, too. Quiet night, so the ambiance was low-key, but this is usually a lovely setting.

No one greeted us at the entra... read more Great location on the Guilford green. Service is definitely lacking. There was no host/hostess for seating. We were a party of 4. No one greeted us at the entrance. It took a bit of time for the food server to take our beverage order. The beverages finally arrived about 15 minutes later. The food was good but not great. The food server never checked back with us to see if everything was OK. There was a manager cleaning and setting tables who seemed overwhelmed and was not friendly. Unfortunately, we would not return to Chapter One Guilford as there are numerous restaurants to choose from Branford to Old Saybrook.

They ran out of 2 beers I wanted to try and when they finally served mine, it was warm. Server was friendly even though she was frustrated with the situation.

There was also one person... read more We had an 8:30 reservation, and when we got to the restaurant (8:25), all of the doors were locked despite the tv and lights being on. There was also one person inside but they didn’t acknowledge us, and there were no signs on the door. I wouldn’t have given any stars since we didn’t even get inside, but the app wouldn’t let me continue to the comment page if I didn’t choose any rating. Hopefully we can go there to actually be able to rate the food, service, etc. because it looked like a nice place to enjoy a meal and hangout.
