The restaurant struggled with short staffing and quality issues, leading to disappointing experiences for some diners. While the traditional New England seafood fare is good and the staff is friendly, the food quality was inconsistent. Despite a picturesque setting and great service on a rainy day, some dishes fell short. On a positive note, the food was delicious with attentive service on a beautiful day, especially the chowder and bisque. The restaurant's ambiance was pleasant, and the dining experience was enjoyable overall, although some improvements were suggested for the menu variety.
Picturesque setting with very good service on a weekday lunch during very poor rainy weather. Entrée dishes of lobster roil. salmon , fish and chips were very good but clam fritters and clam chowder were disappointing.
Great service. Cod was very salty and squash was bland
We took our Best Friends out to celebrate their birthdays. Great chowder, the fish and chips and fried clams were very good. The service was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean and inviting, with views of the water.
Not a great experience. Waitress was nice and efficent. Kitchen doesn't apparently know how to read as they screwed up my wife's salad. Put a dressing specifically declined on the salad that could have caused an allergic reaction. A glass of wine, a cocktail, and two salads almost $100.00.. Not going back.. My wife, daughter and I meet often with our Connecticut family for lunch...with the many restaurants available we keep coming back to The Fisherman. Our regular waitress is Irene and she always remember us and our preferences. The food is good, the view is great and the service we receive from Irene is fantastic! See you again in the Spring!
