The food was very good. I had Haddock and chips with mushy peas. My partner had lemon sole goujons. The fish was very well cooked, lovey, and cruspy batter. Staff were all very nice and the food came out nice and quick. Will definitely be back even if it's just to get a carryout View all feedback.
What Paul Dickson doesn't like about Catch:
Food was mediocre at best, was disappointed as this was meant to be a nice place to visit according to reviews. Maybe we had a bad day for the staff as the service wasn't the best at all, had to wait 30 minutes before I decided to hunt someone down to ask for my child's ice cream. Found all staff behind the counter standing on their phones while we sat there waiting to be served. Bit over priced for what you get, I t... View all feedback.
Ordered the Schellfisch-Abtasse plus a side order of the muddy to take on a rainy evening. first the fish was very fleshy, but above all there was no oil residue on the pull-out box. superb! the reason why I didn't evaluate this is that the double boiled chips were cold. I guess if the fish is hot, but the chips don't have to ask why? Nevertheless, despite this small hiccup I would return.
Stopped by for a takeaway fish supper tonight. When Catch first opened it was a go to place, however the last few times were disappointing. So I decided to give it another try. The chips were cold and greasy and the medium fish more like a small imo) was also limp, not a crispy batter and tasted “old”. Not cheap and I had to throw it out. I won’t be back.
We ordered food to take away and collected it. The fish and chips were ok (ish) but the chicken tacos were disgusting. It was over £5 for one and both were in edible and swimming in oil, plus no sauces or salad included. Sent an email to head office with some feedback and an extremely late and poor response. This place clearly doesn’t value their customer base.
My teenage daughter and her friend both went in at 7pm on Saturday 3rd for a sit in meal. Both well dressed and from a good area but more importantly have been there many times before. They were told by the staff behind the counter that there were no tables yet clearly you could see there were loads. Shortly after several people came in with various group sizes and asked for tables and they were all welcomed so clearly not booked. My daughter and her friend didn’t even get their takeaway in a timely fashion. Their food seemed to have been forgotten about. They had to sit outside when they finally received it having spent nearly £20 on it. What an appalling way to treat people. She has been in several times before as I said and has never been treated like this. If you own Catch are you happy with the way you have treated these customers? Age should not be an excuse for this or is this your policy that under 18s are not allowed to sit in without an adult?
We booked here to then get a phone call the next day telling us their booking system was down and they could not accommodate us. We have made plans to meet with family. This was to be our first time trying here and we certainly would not attempt to try again. Bad customer service!
