Menu

The restaurant from Madison offers 33 different dishes and drinks on the menu for an average price of $8.6.

Dumpling Haus at Hilldale Mall offers bright, minimalist counter-service dining with an open kitchen and chalkboard menu. Dishes arrive as ready in to-go containers and guests clear their own tables. Many dumplings and bao impress—especially the curry beef bun and fried dumplings—while some items (shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, certain rice dishes) are uneven. Vegetarian Szechuan noodles are a highlight. Prices feel upscale for a counter spot, but the convenient, flavorful menu makes it a popular post-shopping stop.

The dumplings are fantastic, made with fresh ingredients and offering a delightful variety of flavors. We were never let down by our meals and plan to return when we visit Madison again in early summer. EDIT: We returned and enjoyed it just as much as before. The mall itself seems to be struggling in its indoor area (though the outdoor shops are thriving), but Dumpling Haus continues to be a favorite of ours. View all feedback.

What Tristan C dislikes about Dumpling Haus:
Okay place to get some Chinese flavor in the area. Had soup noodle and taco boa or gua boa where most of the places call it . The soup noodle was quite innovative with a lot of veggies, however, the flavor of the broth could be stronger. Taco boa aka gua boa is actually quite good with juicy pork belly. The taste could elevate a lot if they add some grind peanut 花生粉 or 花生糖 . Over all, not too shabby if you live... View all feedback.

You order at the counter, grab your utensils, and your dishes are brought out to you as they are ready. Afterward, you’re responsible for clearing your own table. We tried the haus sticker dumplings, curry beef bao, and shrimp dumplings. The haus dumplings had a great texture and were fried to perfection, giving them a homemade feel. However, the green onion in the filling was overpowering. I was not a fan of the shrimp dumplings; something about their flavor was off, and I wouldn’t order them again. On the other hand, the steamed buns had a slightly chewy and sweet texture, and I really enjoyed the curry beef filling—I would definitely order those again. In terms of pricing, it felt a bit on the high side for what you receive. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the experience of seeing the open kitchen and watching the food being prepared. I would return if I had a craving for dumplings or steamed buns.

Dumpling Haus is one of our favorite spots for Asian cuisine in Madison. Conveniently situated in Hilldale Mall, it’s the perfect place to grab a bite after a shopping trip. We appreciate the bright atmosphere created by the glass walls that line both sides of the restaurant. The menu, beautifully handwritten in a chalkboard style, greets you at the entrance. The seating includes a noodle bar as well as tables for four, all set in a minimalist decor.

My favorite restaurant in my hometown! The Haus Noodle Soup is the best, and I can't forget about the pork dumplings!

I ordered the chicken lo mein and pork siu mai, and unfortunately, both dishes lacked any flavor.
