Reviews - Sofrito
Reviews summary
Sofritos delivers bold Latin flavors in a cozy, music-filled space where attentive service and warm owner hospitality make locals and visitors feel welcome. Standouts include mofongo, steak dishes, ropa vieja, shrimp bowls and house-sour margaritas; desserts like tres leches impress. Patrons praise fresh ingredients, vibrant seasoning and clean restrooms. Some inconsistency appeared at brunch—mangu texture, a watered-down queso-chorizo and uneven steak seasoning were noted—so expect excellent cocktails and most dishes but occasional misses. Overall a worthy, flavorful neighborhood destination.

I can not express how satisfied I am with my dining experience in this restaurant. I am from a different town and currently here for work . Best decision I’ve made . Being Hispanic and knowing our flavors And variety of seasonings, this place is amazing ? exceed my expectations. you guys should expand. Thank you ?Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Sofrito:
Superrrrr disappointed in the brunch option.. I was looking forward to their brunch for a few weeks and the “mangu”… was just not it, as you can see. The texture was as if you’re chewing gum. That is NOT mangu, at all. The mimosa was mostly OJ. They changed the chorizo and queso dip, WHY!?! It was so much better before. Super watery and with black beans? Yeah, not sure. My boyfriend had the Argentinian steak and eggs... View all feedback.

Awesome spot. I love the happy hour and I started ordering takeout lunch from here because the bowls are pretty healthy. The server Jose is so hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great dining experience today. I really appreciate how he went the extra mile. It is people like Jose that will keep customers coming back, plus the great deals and food!
For starters, we tried the Queso Chorizo appetizer very good!!! Next was the entree, the Steak Monfongo w/ sweet plantains is AMAZING!! Looking forward to future visits and further exploring the menu!!Food: 5/5

My boyfriend had the Argentinian steak and eggs and mangu. Steak was super salty and almost cooked blue rare we did share our thoughts with the server so hopefully he passes it up to the kitchen. Bummed. Used to really like this place. The 2 stars I guess is for the service.
Service was great! It was not busy in there. I got 3 tacos and they were fine. The chicken one was dry but probably because I ordered it without pico.Food: 4/5
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sofritos, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience! The Latin food and drinks were out of this world. I especially loved the vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was great, too cozy, inviting, and perfect for a girls’ day. The service was also top notch, friendly, and efficient. I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend it!

This is an outstanding locally owned restaurant and bar. The shrimp bowl was fantastic, showcasing a great attention to detail. If you prefer it spicier, just ask for some hot sauce—they offer a really nice option. Sofito, previously known as Taco Mas, seems to draw in people who have traveled in that region. The margaritas look incredibly appealing; I might have to give one a try!
Takes a lot to impress us because we are from Miami where flavor is in EVERYTHING. Going out has been so boring BUT we found this place and it exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to one back and bringing more people with us. Must try the Mofongo the tres leches for dessert
Came for my overnight to South Carolina and was looking for a spanish place and let me tell youuuuuuu, the owner Hector is amazing, thanks to his place, the food, drinks, music made me feel right at home. I recommend it to all the locals and the visitors. Made my visit extra warm and welcoming. Thank You!!!
I discovered this place in afternoon, coming back from work and i was hungry. Steaks very tasty, perfect seasoning and cooking. My favourite is steak with 2 eggs. I fall in love for quality food here. Quite atmosfere, amazing latin music to listen. People polite. Restroom always clean. Perfect place.
My husband and I decided to try Sofrito for our 'date night,' and we were not disappointed. Our server, Jair, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient. He even apologized for a slight delay in our meal due to a short-staffed kitchen, which we completely understood; things like that happen, and we appreciated him taking the time to explain it to us. My paella was plentiful and flavorful, while my husband's ropa vieja was juicy and delicious. We can't wait to return for Sunday brunch!
