Surprised at some of the reviews. I think for the price people are expecting a luxurious plush resort. You are paying for an amazing location and the best view of the sunset on the east coast. We had a really nice time. A 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride from the ferry and downtown. Accessible to numerous wineries. And if you fell off your deck you would land on the beach! the hotel itself is not especially mode... View all feedback.
What Christine L doesn't like about Low Tide Beach At Sound View Greenport:
Advertised as a resort, no gym, small beach loaded with rocks, 29 a day whether you park your car in front of your room or valet. Restaurant on site . My room had double window w/only one blind! Price per night averaged to 500! View all feedback.
We booked our room and our friends did as well.. same price but our room was literally a closet with no view and tv and heat not working
The Soundview Motel was built by the Levin's on Greenport shoreline in 1953. The motel was recently purchased by the Eagle Point Hotel Partners firm based in Manhattan from what I read. The Motel has seen since the new acquisition upgrades on their bedding, pool furniture and other various areas. We lodged on the second floor of the motel which had a large outdoor deck overlooking the Long Island Sound. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and the weather was perfect for our three-day stay. I believe that the new owners will eventually be remodeling the Motel once they have a better understanding of the area.

Staff is very attentive and Mishi one of the managers at the Halyard made our friday dinner!
If I could give a negative review I would. My husband and I did a day pass to this hotel. We get there and they gave our reservation away. We were told bc it was booked on third party. We had paid in full when I booked the reservation. The person at the desk didn't care at all. I was told i could speak to a manager at 4pm to get my money back. Mind you it was early in the morning. Awful service. Would never recommend or come back again. Ruined the whole day that was planned out. Babysitter, dog sitter e etc. Way to hold someone's money hostage. Good customer service would offer a lunch voucher or a free round of drinks. They didn't care at all.
