This review is very overdue as my trip to gratallops was in the mai! but slate was so wonderful with which I had to work on my to-do list all the time! back whe... read more This review is very overdue as my trip to gratallops was in the mai! but slate was so wonderful with which I had to work on my to-do list all the time! back when we visited, they had recently started their weinbar, airbnb and tours, but despite relatiw new, the service and know of katja (the weinbar manager) was great! when I was looking for weeping for priorat, I had a really hard time to find someone in the weeping business who had a helpful website or who was running in English, so when I stumbled on slates website I craig (the owner) away to either help create our weeping visits or (defined) have a custom tour with him. he was from the city but he has the cost was in comparison to many of the similar experiences we looked at, as well as completely customizable! katja and I sent a few times back and forth to design the exact tours, lunch and tasting that we wanted most and they gave excellent advice so that we had an experience we could never have built ourselves. they also made our midday reservations at cellar de gratallops, which was a great help as they were on our must-do list and have no website to book. when we then visited the wineries, she translated to the places where no one spoke English, and even drove our car rental to the windy priorat roads with much more trust than we had (and allowed us to enjoy in all wonderful wee without care.) overall we used our time in slate for our personalized wine tasting, we spent our time with Katja and together the best day. I could not recommend slate better! and as aside, while we did not stay in the air bnb over slate when they just finished the renovations when we visited, we saw it and everything was beautiful! When/if I return to gratallops, I plan absolutely to stay there.
