Needed a place to have dinner on July 3 and many places were closed. The exterior of the building looked very nice, thought it would be ok. Very wrong, inside outdated and very worn. The server was nice but the food was awful. Felt like it all came straight out of a freezer meal... very disappointing and won't return. View all feedback.

read moreHigh Country Ale and Steakhouse in Grande Cache offers a mixed bag of dining experiences, according to recent reviews. Some diners were disappointed by the outdated interior and lackluster food quality, feeling like it came straight out of a freezer meal. Others found the breakfast offerings to be decent but noted that the menu is outdated and unexciting. The prime rib special left much to be desired, with a large chunk of meat that was mostly fat and tasteless. However, there were positive reviews as well, praising the delicious breakfast options, friendly service, and overall satisfying meals for both lunch and breakfast. The steak was highlighted for its good quality and perfect cooking, accompanied by well-timed service and a great deal that includes sides and a starter soup or salad. At group meals, the restaurant shone with its delicious food quality, providing a contrast to other local eateries that fell short in comparison. Overall, High Country Ale and Steakhouse seems to offer a mixed dining experience, with some hits and misses, but could be worth a try for those looking for a casual atmosphere and varied menu options.
