Contribute FeedbackNoto's at the Bil-Mar near Grand Haven State Park offers a stunning beachfront location, perfect for sunset views. The atmosphere is casual, though the interior design falls short. Service can be hit or miss, with young and inexperienced kitchen staff. The Italian cuisine is good, but some dishes were disappointing for the price. The restaurant lacks a children's menu and bread service, with limited parking. However, the outdoor dining area and delicious cocktails make it a unique spot worth visiting for authentic Italian food and beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
Worst service and food we've ever had in a fine dining restaurant. We were shown to a table by the host who was unbelievably unprofessional yelling across the restaurant to a waitress. The service was extremely slow and inattentive one of our party ordered coffee and only got offered a first refill as we were leaving. Another ordered a glass of wine, and when it came, the wine was full of soap suds. Our food was equally bad every dish was terrible (and cold) yet no one seemed to care that we sent all of the plates back barely touched. This used to be a great dining establishment always pricey, but worth it. No longer this restaurant is now a disgrace. We paid over 100 for 4 inedible dinners to celebrate a birthday. Never again!
(This is about the DECK. I have had reasonably good food service INSIDE in off season. I go here about once a year, after I forget the previous time. It 's the only place to buy drinks food on the beach. This is a true tourist facility. They apparently can make it on the location alone, and don 't worry about the quality of the food or service. Last time we were there, we were not drinking, and were almost totally ignored by the waiter. Service was so bad I had to get up and get things myself, other items I ordered were never delivered. It 's an ok place for an overpriced drink, views especially at sunset, but don 't expect anything close to good service. And I suggest you resist the impulse to order food.
Authentic Italian at the only restaurant you will find on the Lake Michiganbeach. You will not be disappointed. If you catch owner Tony Noto have him show you him taking a swing at a pitch thrown by Tiger legend Dave Rozema!Food: 5/5
Noto's at the Bil-Mar is hands-down our favorite restaurant to eat at in Grand Haven. The owner, wait staff and food are all amazing. The restaurant's location offers a front row seat to the most gorgeous sunsets. Every summer, we head straight to Noto's for the beach, great food and amazing sunsets; it is a family favorite and we have made many wonderful memories together as a family there. Highly recommend!!!
We planned on dinner on the beach but it rained so we made the best if it, however, several things were below acceptable to my disappointment. The waitress was very gloomy and never smiled. She brought beers in the cans with No glasses. When some asked for straws, they brought straws that were cut in half to where you had to hang on to them so it wouldn't sink. Had to request whole straws. How absurd!! No napkins under any of the drinks so from the condensation, our table was soaked. We asked for it to be wiped up, yet still, they didn't put napkins under the glasses to prevent it. The food took over 1/2 hour to arrive and they left off one of our ladies entire order and started it just as the rest of us revived our food. My burger was like chewing a shoe. Overall surprised at just how terrible the combo of all of the issues were. And I've never left a bad review for anyone but this was just over the top awful on all levels! Disappointed x 10!
