Was 224sarahs at Chaouen a mag?
This little place was recommended by a friend, otherwise we probably wouldn’t have ventured in. Tiny back room, basic and a little eccentric but so worth it! Fab food the tagine and lamb couscous were delicious and the owner was entertaining and attentive. Unlike some of the Moroccan restaurants you can get a beer or wine here. Cheapest meal we had. It’s quite a hike but definitely worth it. View all feedback.

What omarbJ7377UG dislikes about Chaouen:
We did not eat there as we met the owner outside the restaurant. He was very rude as we approached him to ask whether the meat was halal or not. We did not get an answer but sarcastic questions for which reason we decided to eat somewhere Else. View all feedback.

In the Albaicin, in the direction of the mirador San nicholas, is a small hole in the wall restaurant serving excellent Moroccan food. We walked from the plaza Isabella up a series of steep, winding and narrow residential streets to Chaouen. The charming owner served us outstanding baba ganoush, humus, vegetable cous cous, and lamb tagine with plums and almonds. Full bar but don’t miss the outstanding mint tea.

The food came very fast and was sooooo good. We had soups and salad and tagine. The waiter is super nice and friendly. Definitely visit if you are here! By the way, sorry for the food picture because the food is already half eaten but we couldnt help ourselves

The restaurant is a tiny little place with only four small tables. We were looking for some food on the way down from the mirador San Nicolas and, looking at the menu, we decided to give it a whirl. The restaurant is a family affair it’s run by a man whose wife does all the cooking. The Moroccan host was friendly and welcoming and took great delight in telling us that he had lived in High Wycombe for five years earlier on in his life. He appeared to be able to speak a large number of different languages. The menu is not extensive, but the quality is exceptional. We had gorgeous flat bread and Hummus and baba ghanouj to start, followed by tagines and couscous, all of which were utterly delicious, as was the mint tea and baklava that we had to finish. All in all, this restaurant Comes extremely highly recommended!

The hummus was fresh and tasty. The bread was so good on its own but was an excellent medium to transport the hummus. The tagine of lamb and vegetables was tender and flavorful. We also had the tagine of lamb, peaches, plums and almonds and the chicken couscous. All very yummy. As stated previously, the owner is very friendly. The only negative was that the owner took away my credit card and selected the option to pay in USD. This resulted in a 3% sur charge. Beware. Lost one star for silly games with the credit card.
