The food was delicious and very cheap. We did not speak much German and he (the owner I believe) did not speak much English, but he was more than willing to work with us to place an order. In addition, he gave me an adapter to charge my phone because my phone was broken. Good food, good prices and phenomenal service definitely a place worth checking View all feedback.
We stopped overnight in Grachen in June on our way to Italy and tried this restaurant for our evening meal. The place was practically empty but it was off-season. The food was reasonable but what spoiled it for us the complete lack of customer service from the waiter. He could not provide an English menu or speak English or French and just left us to muddle through. Fortunately another couple at the bar was able to help us translate enough of the menu to order our meal. When it came to pay, we were given another table's bill and again this mistake on the waiters part took some sorting out. I don't think we will be visiting again due the waiter's indifference.
During our holidays in Switzerland, we stayed 3 days in Grachen. One of our meals was in this restaurant, and we had an excellent experience. Here, you can enjoy local dishes (fondue), with an excellent service.
We chose this restaurant to have our first raclette of the trip, but the dish, though it looked beautiful, didn’t taste at all like raclette but rather like some nondescript cheese. There was no smell at all. Very strange. We are raclette lovers! When we asked the waitress about the raclette (thinking she might say it’s young or mild… conceivable if unlikely), she immediately turned angry and dismissive. When she brought us the bill, she said the card reader was broken, too. Again, this might have been true, but it seemed a strange coincidence. Finally, just a note that on the table, they advertise 10cl of a wine is 6.80 and 50cl is 38 CHF. Well… if you do the math, you’re paying more for the bottle than by the glass! We asked about this when we sat down, but she waved us away. So make sure to order by the glass! It’s cheaper.
Simply great, Jeannette Stephan are great hosts wonderful food, great grandma's raclette room with wonderful raclette in the evening, Great menus during the week simply great
