Pharmacy, Kitchen, and Bar in Goshen, NY, offers a vibrant atmosphere steeped in creative decor reminiscent of a British castle. I recently convinced my colleagues to try this place since we order out practically every night for dinner with a large order. I want to start by saying the food was good, but every other aspect was not. Last week I placed a large to go order at 6:15 PM.When I arrived to pick-up the order I was short a lot of money and when reviewing the receipt there was a 20% gratuity added tomy bill which ended up being $65 in gratuity for this large order. When I asked I was told that the computer automatically adds20% gratuity to bills over $250. We ALWAYS tip regardless on our takeout orders, but that was a shock and something Ishould’ve been advised of when I placed the order. I am not complaining about leaving gratuity, but when you get blindsidedwith a 20% gratuity totaling $65 when you have never experienced that on any takeout order, ever, it was a shock and came out ofmy pocket. That needs to be addressed when someone is placing a large order because that is not normal practice on takeout. Nowafter that horrible incident we decided to go back today with a much smaller order (2 items). We called at 6:08 PM and was toldthat they don’t do any takeout orders past 6 PM! Shocking, considering the week prior I placed a $300 order much after6pm. Only two dealings and both have not been good and clearly inconsistent. I have looked on their website and I don’t seeanything about the 20% added gratuity on takeout orders over $250, and I also don’t see anything about no takeout after 6pm.Hopefully if you decide to try this place, your experiences will be better, or stick to dine-in because obviously there areissues with takeout, but then again I have not eaten in-house so I can’t confirm if the dining experience will be any better. On the plus side their food is very good and they could have made lots of money from me and my colleagues, hence the $300 orderlast week for our first visit and would’ve been regularly.

I have eaten here twice now. The first time was several months back. The restaurant was very smoky and we all left smelling like we were around a camp fire. The food was average. Yesterday when I at there it was not very good to be honest. My burger was raw (was supposed to be medium) and barely a mushroom on it. The string fries were hard as a rock. The person I was with had the half chicken and it was served over rice. The chicken was extremely dry. Unfortunately not a place I would recommend or return to. Spent $100 for two people.
