What L Simonson dislikes about Culbert's Bakery:
I'm heartbroken that they have changed the recipe for their cream puffs. What used to be my favourite treat, my favourite dessert is now sickly sweet and doesn't taste like real cream.I don't understand why Culbert's would change the recipe for their star menu item, what everyone in the county lines up for out the door.I would rather pay more for the original cream puff but it's gone.I'm so sad but they won't be a sto... Drive all the way from London every now and then just to get their cream puffs butter tarts!
Disappointed. It seems that quality is not quite like it used to be. Not sure if you changed an ingredient, but it hasn't made it taste better....
I absolutely love this place; it brings back memories of my childhood. Strawberry tarts were always our favorite! However, the puffs have definitely become my top choice lately. Time...
Creme puffs are absolutely amazing. 110% worth the drive where ever you are coming from.

Tucked in the center of Godrich, this is well worth getting off of the main road. A large selection of tasty baked treats to please everyone. Don't drive past. Make the turn to the square in downtown Godrich. You'll be glad you did.

Can't go to Goddard. Making a stop at this lovely bakery. Highly recommend the croissants.
Sadly we didn't get to try the famous creampuffs as they were out. I'll preorder or go earlier in the day next time. They still had a wide selection of dessert bars and we tried 5 different ones. Although they were tasty and fresh I found they weren't anything I haven't had before. Still yummy and solid.

Consistently awesome baked goods. Chocolate butter tarts! Cream puffs! Get there early for best selection. This business is unfortunately for sale. Hopefully whoever buys it will keep up the legacy! There are no tables as it is for take out
Cream puffs can’t be beat! I wish they had fresh gluten free options though. A box of doughnuts (any kind are always a party favourite :
We visited the bakery based on a recommendation from the staff at the Samuels Hotel. We purchased bagels, black currants, and butter cookies. Everything was very fresh! Our favorite were the cookies, which we heated up and added a generous amount of butter, just as the friendly cashier suggested.
I've been shopping here for over forty years. I can appreciate the last of the attempt to cultivate a cultural heritage with inadequate staff, but there is no excuse for the derivation of bulky were to these or any praises. that happened also before....The leaves I bought were fresh, but tasteless. the fresh places were quite tasty, but others were very dry and crumbling. the prices have risen and the pieces are much smaller. I've never liked her tasteless cookies. the women tried their best. I hope a new buyer can get this business back on. that will be my last visit.
First visit to this iconic bakery in downtown Goderich, in business since 1877. Great variety of baked goods croissants, turnovers, cookies, tarts, buns, breads, etc. attractively displayed and priced. A must visit for the food conscious, and one you'll return to. Expect to wait at...certain times in the morning.
